SK Clinic of La Jolla
Dr. Stephen Krant, medical director and respected cosmetic surgeon at SK Clinic in the San Diego area, is a graduate of Emory University and the Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chicago. From there he returned to Yale New Haven Hospital where he completed an outstanding residency in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery..
Dr. Stephen Krant opened SK Clinic, the La Jolla Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center, in 1976. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). He has performed thousands reconstructive and cosmetic surgery procedures in San Diego.

A graduate of Georgetown University, John G. Apostolides, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Apostolides was selected for one of only two positions to train in plastic, reconstructive and maxillofacial surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Upon completion of his surgical training and specialization, Dr. Apostolides moved to California to join SK Clinic.
Dr. Apostolides is dedicated to compassionate patient care with an interest and passion for the precision and artistry of plastic surgery. He trained under many of the world’s leading experts in plastic & aesthetic surgery, microsurgery, breast reconstruction, and facial trauma. He specializes in enhancing and rejuvenating the appearance and beauty of women and men of all ages, in addition to restoring and reconstructing the complex physical defects of trauma patients related to breast cancer, facial trauma, and various skin cancers.
Dr. Apostolides has presented nationally at various scientific meetings and has authored multiple scientific publications in the field of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Apostolides and his wife Carolyn, a native of Southern California, now live in San Diego.

SK Institute of La Jolla: Providing Emotional and Medical Help to Those in Need
Operating a plastic and reconstructive surgery practice such as SK Clinic takes an extreme dedication to the individual and the potential each person can reach.
Unfortunately, many people are hampered in their pursuit of physical potential by debilitating diseases such as cancer and diabetes. To assist individuals dealing with these illnesses and to help them reach their desired potential in the face of difficult odds, the SK Institute was founded in 2001.
The SK Institute is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to raising awareness and raising funds to provide education and support to those who live with disease, and to fund research to help to prevent and cure disease.
The SK Institute was founded to assist individuals and their families who must live with disease every day. Through a combination of education, support, and the funding of research, SK Institute takes a multi-dimensional approach to its philanthropic endeavors.
The SK Institute of San Diego is perhaps best known for its support of women with breast cancer and its organization of a monthly gathering of women with breast cancer at SK Sanctuary. Likewise, similar gatherings are held for men with prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and individuals with melanoma.
